മലപ്പുറം ജില്ലയിലെ ഏറ്റവും വിസ്തൃതിയേറിയ പഞ്ചായത്താണ് തൃക്കലങ്ങോട്. പഞ്ചായത്തിലെ പ്രധാന കാർഷിക ഗ്രാമമാണ് എളംകൂർ. ഗ്രാമവാസികൾ കർഷകരും സാമ്പത്തികമായി പിന്നോക്കം നില്കുന്നവരുമാണ്. പ്രദേശത്തെ ഏക അംഗീകൃത ഹൈസ്ക്കൂളാണ് എളംകൂർ പി. എം. എസ്. എ ഹൈസ്ക്കൂൾ.
1962 ൽ അന്തരിച്ച പട്ട്ലകത്ത് മനക്കൽ ശ്രീ ശ‌ങ്കരൻ നബൂതിരിയുടെ സ്മരണാർത്ഥം അദ്ദേഹത്തിൻറെ സഹോദരൻ പട്ട്ലകത്ത് മനക്കൽ ശ്രീ നീലകണ്ഠൻ നബൂതിരി 1966 ൽ എളംകൂർ പി. എം. എസ്. എ യു പി സ്ക്കൂൾ സ്ഥാപിച്ചു.
ശ്രീമതി കെ വി രാധ പ്രധാനാധ്യാപികയായി 53 വിദ്യാർത്ഥികളൂമായി സ്ക്കൂൾ പ്രവർത്തനമാരംഭച്ചൂ.
1968 ൽ ശ്രീ കെ ശിവശൻകരൻ മാസ്ററർ പ്രധാനാധ്യാപകനായി ചുമതലയേററു.
1976 മെയ് 1 ഈ സ്ക്കൂളിെൻറ വാർഷികം വിദ്യാഭ്യാസമന്ത്രി ചാക്കിരി അഹമ്മദ്കുട്ടിയുടെ സാന്നിദ്ധ്യത്തിലായിരുന്നു. എളംകൂർ ഗ്രാമവാസികൾ സ്ക്കൂൾ ഹൈസ്ക്കൂളാക്കി ഉയർത്താൻ മന്ത്രിയോട് ആവശ്യപ്പെടുകയും 1984 ൽ ഹൈസ്ക്കൂളാക്കി ഉയർത്തുകയും ചെയ്തു.
1996 മാർച്ച് 9 ന് പ്രശസ്തസാഹിത്യകാരൻ ശ്രീ എം ടി വാസുദേവൻ നായർ സ്ക്കൂൾ ലൈബ്രറി ഉദ്ഘാടനം ചെയ്തു
